The word Sald makes the foodie in me go EEwwwwww. The mention of salads as main course and I vanish from the scene. I like to stick to my regular salad with food in our desi style is much preferred. On the contrary, I have grown an interest in some fancy leafy dishes off late. One of them being the Caesar Salad. I have developed my own recipe based on my taste and to my surprise, it quite supersedes my expectations. Lets head on for the step by step tastier and healthier version of salad.

Healthy Breakfast Recipe

 

You will need-

 

  • Fresh Lettuce Leaves -2 pieces
  • Sprouts/Chickpeas - 100 gms
  • Grilled/Boiled Chicken Chunks (optional) - 100 gms
  • Refined/Olive Oil - 3-4 teaspooon
  • Garlic - 10-12 slices
  • Bread slices - 4
  • Capsicum- One Big
  • Curd- 300 gms
  • Mayonnaise/Salad Dressing - 2 spoonfuls
  • Salt
  • Black Pepper

 

Step by Step Method to Make the Delicious Juicy Salad

 

Soak the chickpeas/green lentils (moong daal) overnight.

Lets start with the veggies, I prefer a quick boil instead of using them raw.
Dip the lettuce leaf in Luke warm water for 5 seconds at the max and run it under tap cold water. If you want you can refrigerate it for crunchiness. I prefer to dip in luke warm water to get rid of contamination and self satisfaction.

Quick boil the capsicum so that it stays crunchy and doesnt loose its color. You can add yellow and red bell peppers as well.

You can either boil the chicken or alternatively grill it. The boneless chicken chunks have to be soft and succulent to only add to the flavor. If you love that taste, you can lightly fry in butter too.

Now  to make the crunchy bread  bites, take a skillet, pour in 3 teaspoon cooking oil ( I have used olive oil). Add minced garlic pieces. Roughly tear four bread slices and put it in the skillet. Stir it all well until crispy and golden.

Time to arrange the saald ingredients . Take a large bowl. Start with the base and put the washed and fan dried lettuce leaves. Add the grilled/boiled chicken chunks. In case you are vegetarian, replace it with mushrooms. Later add the capsicum, chickpeas and sprouts. Give flavor with salt and  pepper.

Now to add to the  juiciness, add curd and mayo/dressing.

Toss it all together and you are ready to taste one of the most delicious combos of juicy and crunchy breakfast ever.

In the end add bread crunchies and toss it again.

I am salivating while writing this post. This instantly kicks starts my day and it’s so nutritious and wholesome I can’t tell enough.
