Worst Colourpop Products

When it comes to makeup by Colourpop, I was always intrigued. I had got these sculpting stix on discount from the Instagram store Lachickwick. This range by Jaime King X has two shades for highlight and contour called Releve and Renaissance respectively.

Colourpop Contour and Highlight Stix

Product Description

This super convenient, easy to blend highlighting pen will enhance and sculpt your facial features.
Apply Highlight Stix on the top of the cheekbones, down the center of nose, center of the forehead, top of the chin, cupids bow, under the eyebrow, on the eye lid and collar bones to pull your features forward. Apply directly to desired areas and blend immediately with fingertips or brush of choice- we love to use a small to full size duo- fiber brush with good movement (not too stiff!).

See it through my Eyes

The packaging is simple and Colourpop typical. White cardboard case with details mentioned, likewise the stix are white too with labels at the base. The pen like body is retractable and product can be fully used. The contour/highlight stick is in shape of crayon which applies super smooth and easy. There is no sharpener to sharpen and make the tip sharper.

The texture is soft and buttery. The texture is out and out matte, including the highlighting stick. The color pay off is not impressive and doesn’t come out clearly on my NC 37 skin. The highlight color is pale, whereas the contour color is sheer. Only on layering it three times it shows up as desired. These don’t stay long either, for about 3 hours or so, after which they fade away.

What I like about Colourpop Sculpting Stix

  • Soft and easy to apply
  • Blends well
  • Cruelty free
  • Matte finish

What I don’t like about Colourpop Sculpting Stix

  • Doesn’t show up on my NC 37 skin
  • No extra ordinary sculpting effect
  • Contour color not flattering on Indian skin tone
  • Highlight is not shimmery
  • This range has only one contour and one highlight color

Recommendation: No
NoM Report Card: 2/5

Final Verdict

These sculpting stix are light and sheer, they hardly serve the purpose on Indian skintone. I believe these can be totally skipped.
