Durga Puja Makeup Look

Durga Puja Makeup Look
White and Red Sari
Red Lips and Golden Eyes

This look is dedicated for Durga Puja Kolkata’s biggest celebration. I have worn a sari specially to suit the theme of red and white. Any other garment can't do justice as good as a sari for the perfect Kolkata special Durga Puja. I have tried to make this look gorgeous yet very simple to create. The main factors being the play of colors to bring the look together.

Indian Festive Makeup

Gold Eyeshadow and Red Lips

I have created a perfect base with the face products one after the other. Starting with priming the face with Nivea After Shave, followed by foundation base L’Oreal True Match. To fade off the dark circles and darkness on the face, I chose the Kiss Beauty Palette which works wonders.

The kiss beauty palette is multipurpose and I have used it for color correcting, concealing and contouring. Since the product is cream based, I had to set it well with a powder, thus I have baked my face ( as shown HERE) with the Flarmor Loose Powder. All this while the Pac Mini Blenders were of great help.  While the powder was left to bake under the eyes, I chose to do the eye makeup. The time taken for eye makeup will help the bake those areas well.

For the eye makeup, I started with the brows first. My eye brows are on full growth and I couldn’t buy time to get them sorted at the salon. For these times, the eyebrow pencil is my best friend. I have used the Miss Claire Dark Brown eyebrow pencil, you must have also seen the demo in the previous post.

I wanted the eyes to be simple gold yet stand out, I chose the MUR Awesome Palette ( yes that’s what its called ). These shadows are super creamy and almost foiled. I dabbed the golden color on the eye lids , with finger tips and finished the upper lashed by lining it with a wing by Maybelline Liner. The eyes had to stand out with good dose of kohl, the Lotus Eco Stay Kajal is one of the intense blacks I have. Since I don’t use falsies, I wanted lashes to flutter. The Colorbar Zoom and woosh Mascara helped me.

I would wear red lips, thus the blush had to be nude or nude brown. I chose this beautiful shade from Oriflame. Added some highlight with the same blush duo.

The lips had to be bright and bold to match the red and white theme. To make the pout fuller, I lined it with oriflame lip liner in red. I have used layering method to keep the lip color long lasting. The Faces Ultime Pro Matte Lip Crayon in Smokin Hot was my best bet for the orangey red lips I wanted. I topped it with a layer of Mars Lip Color in Red shade.

To keep the whole face dewy and glowy, I sprayed some Za hydra mist on the face to complete the whole look.
Now comes the best part after makeup – dressing up. I wore this white sari which you all loved on my Instagram feed. That picture had the matching white and gold blouse. I chose to pair the sari with this red blouse to bring out the real flavor of Durga pujas.  I wore my favorite imitation gold earrings and necklace. Paired a matching bangle and that’s it. Ready to slay the Indian Avatar.
