Back then when liostick only meant Red, the classic red i was little shy to sport the bold color. But now looking back, i was just unaware of the beauty of a red lipper. I have so many red shades in my stash, i will share my favorite lot today. Since the year has come to an end, I would like to anything but red lipstick with you all. I love them all and these are in no particular order.

 My Favorite Red Lipsticks

 Mac Ruby Woo

It is that classic red which can never go wrong on any skintone. It will look equally good on a NC 30 and NC 42. It is an out and out red which will flatter all skintones as I said. Having said that, gone are the days when ruby was the only option we had, now we have more dupable options, that too affordable ones. Hang on till the end of this post to find out the dupe options. La Splash Lip Couture -Till Midnight

This a red with orange undertones, its one of the most desirable form of reds which is hard to find. It’s an instant face brightener.  This looks best with a winged liner leaving the waterline untouched. An orange based red is very difficult to find, if you find it just grab it. Full review HERE.

Maybelline Lip Gradation - Red 2

Red 2 is a warm red shade with pink undertones, me likey. The finish is matte, but the texture is so smooth as if you are living a dream. Its so soft on the lips, glides with no effort. Gives a beautiful finish after say half an hour it turns into powder finish which is amazing. The lips tend to feel dry after a few hours though. But the matte texture is outstanding with the smoothness in application. To cut it short, you can apply it like butter on lips and it will stay as a powder matte finish. Sugar Matte Lip Crayon Scarlet O Hara

Sugar Matte as Hell Lip Crayon – Scarlet ‘ O Hara

When you first see the shade it shouts RED. The red is so defined and beautiful that it’s difficult to move your eyes away from it at first. Its an out and out red with no particular undertone, a pure red which you hardly find. There is either a blue tones red or an orange based red. This stands out being only red. I am NC 37 and it suits me beautifully. This shade can suit all skintones, irrespective of light or dusky. Sugar Scarket O'Hara an intense bold red shade is nothing short of hitting a jackpot. Faces Ultime Pro Matte Lip crayon – Smokin Hot

This is easily my favorite orange toned red in my stash. It is so flattering on fair to medium skin tones. The shade is intense to cover my pigmented lips in one glide. Its amazing that being so soft and smooth it is equally matte on the lips. Lips don’t feel dry if they are well moisturized (when you start the makeup and later dab with a tissue, the moisture is sucked in and the matte lipsticks are no pain anymore). It transfers slightly on to cups and glasses, but the color pay off remain unchanged. The color is a unique find to me; this is the perfect shade to play with this Valentines. Full review HERE.

Maybelline Mat Lip Cream : Mat 8

Maybelline Velvet Matte Lip – Mat  8

A juicy red color, which is sheer enough for first timers, yet deep enough for pigmented lips. I like the juicy texture for winters and it brings in whole lot of sassiness to the look.
So those were my picks for the festive season. You can wear these for the parties, weddings and dates. They are all red and sizzling hot.
