Hits & Misses this Month - October 2015

 Hey Friends,
October bids us goodbye so does Durga Puja and summers. Hopefully winters are here to arrive soon as Diwali is round the corner. I had a great month with the occasions and a holiday. Now I am quite excited about Diwali and winters. This time of the year is very dreamlike and happy for me; I thoroughly enjoy long walks, food and long lasting makeup.  Enough of ranting, lets head on to the purpose of this post.
I have started a new monthly series of post about HITS and MISSES of the month. It will feature the products or things which have impressed me and there will be few subjects which didn’t work for me. A monthly round up of my daily chores.

The products which I have been using off late and which I really like this month are

  • Coloressence Eye Shadow in Tuskon Gold
  • Nykaa Nail Enamel
  • Essence Big Lashes Volume & Curl Mascara

Coloressnce Gold Eye Shadow for Festive Season

The festive season had me go mad with eye makeup. I loved using the gold eye shadow from Coloressence. If you have read my post on it, you must know how much I love it for its pigmentation, texture and color. The color is just the right one to give those eyes the required festive touch. The way it blends, the supreme pigmentation and heart winning shade makes it a must have this Diwali. You have seen me wearing it here.

Nykaa Pastel Nail Enamel

The next product I like a lot these days is the Nykaa Nail Enamel from the Pastel range. I got this shade called Mint Meringue (No. 65) to try out and I can’t get enough of it. I did nail art, painted it on my digits all week long. The color pay off is super, the shade range is to die for; the texture is oh so rich. I have to pick up more shades from this range and review it for you guys to show you how good these are. You ave seen me wearing it here.

Essence Big Lahes Mascara for Volume to the Lashes

The next thing I have loved for drama to the eyes is the Essence Volume and Curl Masacara. The awesome packaging, the big lashes effect, the non clumpy texture makes it a complete winner in my eyes Wink I am wearing it here and here.

Now comes the not so happy part, the MSSES this month.

  • Blue Heaven Artisto Kajal
  • Mood Matcher Lipstick – Orange

Blue Heaven Artisto Kajal

I had great hopes from this kajal from Blue Heaven. Before I start with the cons, let me tell you this has a good packaging like most drugstore brands much expensive than this (This costs just Rs. 125) but the sad part is it misses it claim to be smudge proof, it smudges easily as the texture is quite creamy. The application is quite smooth, but this is what makes it smudge. If only it didn’t smudge, it could have been my favorite.

Mood Matcher Lipstick

I got the Mood Matcher Orange lipstick in my Fab Bag this month. As usual Fab Bag was a mixed experience for me, last month it was so freaking good. This month I did not have the option to choose from the best makeup products. Like most ladies got the Makeup Revolution Cream Blush, I got this lipstick. The problem with this lipstick is the sheer color pay off. It is more of a balm than a lipstick. I see myself using it as a lip balm than as a lipstick in the winters. It will be perfect to add a tint to the lips with moisturizing properties. Morever, the bullet is so stiff, I keep on gliding it on my lips but it doesn’t show up. It doesn’t deserve the high price (Rs.590) I think.

So this was my list of hits and misses this month. Hope you enjoyed reading it.
